The RIMA Group believes that harmony between industrial development and environmental preservation is essential for creating value. Responsible and transparent action guarantees sustainable growth and confirms our commitment to always operating with the minimum environmental impact and contributing to the conservation of natural resources for present and future generations.
Environmental management is a fundamental pillar of all our operations. From the start of the production process to the final delivery of RIMA products, strict measures are taken to mitigate any negative impacts and promote sustainable practices. Environmental management guidelines are based on advanced technologies, continuous innovation and compliance with current environmental regulations.
RIMA recognizes the importance of biological diversity and is committed to protecting ecosystems. In mining activities, we ensure the proper rehabilitation of mined areas with recovery programs that favor the restoration of native vegetation, as well as developing monitoring programs for local fauna. In forestry, we adopt sustainable management practices, promote reforestation and the conservation of forest resources.
One of the RIMA Group's guidelines is its commitment to the environment and sustainable practices. Following the regulation of the CDM, RIMA has developed two projects aimed not only at reducing greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, but also at generating resources for the company, social welfare, job creation and environmental benefits, thus guaranteeing sustainable development in the country.

We obtained approval for our first CDM project and were the first Brazilian metal industry to have a CDM project (Project 0889: RIMA Fuel Switch in Bocaiúva) approved by the UN.
Replacing non-renewable fossil fuels with biomass from RIMA's own planted forests ensures sustainability by reducing CO2 emissions from its own reforestation.

In 2006, Rima Industrial S/A, under the management of its chairman, Ricardo Antonio Vicintin, took an important step towards preserving the ecosystem of the Januária region, one of the most deprived areas in the state of Minas Gerais.
We have transformed approximately 15,870.65 hectares into a Private Natural Heritage Reserve (RPPN), considered the largest RPPN in the state of Minas Gerais.
