The RIMA Group also has a Mining division, which specializes in the extraction and processing of minerals such as quartz and dolomite. Around 250,000 tons of high purity quartz are extracted every year and used in the production of silicon-based alloys, whereas approximately 180,000 tons of dolomite are extracted and used in the production of magnesium and Magnesium alloys.

We apply modern extraction and processing technologies to guarantee the most suitable mineral for each application, always paying attention to the necessary environmental precautions. During the process, we transform all waste into new products, reducing our environmental impact. By-products from crushing quartz are reused in construction (gravel and sand) and in making concrete artifacts (precast).
