RIMA Industrial and SIMPAC Sign Strategic Partnership to Produce High-Purity Ferro Silicon

RIMA Industrial, Brazil's leading producer of silicon-based alloys, and SIMPAC Group, one of South Korea's largest ferroalloy producers, have announced the creation of SILBRAKOR, an innovative joint venture aimed at producing High Purity Ferro Silicon in Brazil. The signing ceremony took place in São Paulo with the participation of the two presidents.

With over 50 years of excellence in the production of ferroalloys, RIMA Industrial stands out for being the only global company whose CO2 emissions are audited and certified by SGS, a renowned independent certifier. The company maintains an impressive emission of just 56.2 kg CO2 eq per ton of FeSi, reaffirming its commitment to sustainability.

SIMPAC is the only producer and distributor of high-purity FeSi in South Korea. With the Joint Venture, both companies hold 50% of Silbrakor's shares.

This partnership will bring more development and innovation.

Since the start of the collaboration in 2019, RIMA and SIMPAC have been working together to supply high-quality products, with a specific focus on the Korean electrical steel market, mainly used in the manufacture of electric motors and transformers. This new joint venture aims to expand its presence in the Asian market, increasing the supply of sustainable high-purity ferro silicon and meeting the growing demand for high-quality solutions in the region.

The partnership between RIMA and SIMPAC represents a significant milestone in the evolution of both businesses, promising not only to strengthen the market position in the ferroalloys sector, but also to contribute to a more sustainable and innovative future.
